A special visitor: Professor Leonid Gurvits

27 Jan 2012

Sergei Gulyave and Leonid Gurvits On the 16 December 2011 Professor Leonid Gurvits joined us for a three week visit to work on our joint research projects.  He is Head of Space Science and Senior Astronomer at JIVE - the Joint Institute for VLBI in Europe, the Netherlands and Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology.  We very much enjoyed his company and his interesting and entertaining seminar on “VLBI News from Europe”.  He outlined major research projects conducted at JIVE in the area of radio astronomy, with special emphasis on future space exploration programmes.

Further collaborations are planned in line with the MoU that was signed between our two institutions a year earlier.
